BHUBANESWAR:The 17th of last month was a ‘black day’ in the history of Indian democracy. On this day, the entire opposition, led by the Congress party, together shattered the dreams of crores of women in the country. They celebrated with joy by defeating the 131st Amendment to the Constitution in the Lok Sabha. This is not the defeat of the women of the country, it shows the arrogance of the opposition. The women of this country will give the answer through their votes, said Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohantharan Majhi at a press conference organized at the state office on the ‘Nari Shakti Bandh Act’.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Majhi said that while Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is performing a yagna for women’s empowerment, the opposition is conspiring to make it a failure. About half of the country’s 140 crore population is women. Without women, creation cannot be imagined. Today, the daughters and women of the country have demonstrated their excellence in all fields. They have displayed their talent in all fields, from education, health, science and technology, sports, business, administration. Starting from teaching in schools to flying an airplane, it is common for them today. During Operation Sindhur, the whole world saw the miracle of Indian ‘Nari Shakti’. But for the opposition, women empowerment is just a slogan and a fashion.
When the time came to give real respect and real rights to women, they got away with it by showing various tricks. A conspiracy was made not to give women leadership, but to use them only as pawns in their own parties. Their slogan of women’s freedom and their true nature have come to the fore in the two-day Lok Sabha debate. Starting from the Congress, the Trinamool Congress, the Samajwadi Party, the Aam Aadmi Party, the DMK, the Left parties, it is clear from the stance that they are really anti-women. They are only acting in the guise of women empowerment.
Those who say that they have provided protection to women in the Panchayat elections, do so because by providing protection at the Panchayat level, these leaders do not suffer any loss in contesting elections in the Assembly or Lok Sabha constituencies. But when they saw that their interests in the Assembly and Lok Sabha could be affected, they were shocked. They did not implement the Act because of this fear. The Congress and its allies were earlier known for corruption and nepotism, but now they have been branded as ‘anti-women’.
The whole world has seen the initiatives of the successful Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji regarding women empowerment. This does not need any proof. The entire women’s society of the country has its hope on Hon’ble Modi ji. This temporary delay will not stop the women’s power. His flights have been delayed for a few days, but very soon the women’s power of the country will be ready to fill new flights, said Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Majhi.
Addressing the press conference, MP Smt. Bansuri Swaraj said that the Nari Shakti Bandhan Act was passed unanimously in September 2023.
At that time, all the opposition parties including the Congress agreed in favor of this act. But when this act was implemented, all the opposition parties in the Indian Union, including the Congress, DMK, TMC, Samajwadi Party, have jointly betrayed the mother power of this country. In this regard, the speech of the successful Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi showed his pain and concern for women. When the implementation of this act was discussed in Parliament on April 16, 17, 18, the opponents went back on their previous promise. The successful Prime Minister Modi wanted to implement women’s reservation from 2029, but the opponents have stabbed the mother power of the country. The Congress and the opposition parties want the role of women to be limited only to the polling booth. It is clear that they only want to use them as vote banks. When this Act was to ensure the participation of women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies, the opposition parties turned their backs. While the successful Prime Minister Modi is trying to give rights to the mother power of the country, the opposition parties in the Indian Union led by the Congress have created obstacles.
While the Congress always talks about Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Babasaheb Ambedkar and the Constitution, when the time came to give an account of the rights of women, this party pinched the thread of the Constitution. For the last 40 years, the mother power of the country has been waiting for its rights, while the opposition has deliberately raised various issues and has not implemented this Act by doing dirty politics. It is clear that they did not want women to get their rights in politics. For the blockade they have created to sacrifice the interests of the mother power, they are sure to fall prey to the anger of the mother power. They had the opportunity to receive the blessings of the mother power but they missed it. Those who have sacrificed for the sake of the feminine power will surely get the consequences of the curse.
The Women’s Rights Act is a resolution for Modiji and the Bharatiya Janata Party. It will definitely be fulfilled. Modiji has given a firm promise to the women’s movement that under his leadership, women will definitely get their rights. BJP will create awareness about the anti-women stance of the opposition parties including the Congress. MP Sushri Swaraj said that she will raise her voice at all levels from the Panchayat to the Parliament.
