BHUBANESWAR:Seizure of property in NDPS case Under the provision of chapter V A of NDPS Act(Section A- Z) there is a provision of seizing and forfeiture of ill-gotten property (illegallyacquired property from Narcotics business in last six years). On 9.10.2025 HonorableCompetent Authority, Kolkata under NDPS Act has been pleased to pass order to forfeiture ofproperty worth of Rs. 22,58,910/- seized in STF PS Case No. 17/2024 U/s. 20(b)(ii)(c)/29NDPS Act, 1985.
Competent Authority is a quasi-judicial authority under NDPS Act to pass order for forfeiture of such illegally acquired property.
In this case, on 04.04.2024, contraband Ganja around 52 Kg, one Santro Car and other
incriminating materials were seized from the possession of the accused persons namely 1)
Bikash Kumar Digal, and 2) Soumya Ranjan Digal, both are S/o Madhab Digal permanent
resident of Keredi PS. Phulbani Sadar Dist. Kandhamal at present BDA Colony Sian Sramik Basti PS. Maytri Vihar, Bhubaneswar Dist. Khordha.
Financial investigation was conducted. During investigation nine (09) numbers of
vehicles bearing Registration No(s). OR-02-AV-8252, OR-02-AS-9099, OD-33-A-3300, OD02-CF4801, OD-02-Y-6336, OD-02Q-4873, OD-02-AT-4283, 0D-02-AZ-3048 and OD-02-BU-3324worth of Rs. 22,58,910/- acquired by accused persons Bikash Kumar Digal and Soumya RanjanDigal out of illegal contraband Ganja business have been identified and seized.
A detailed proposal for confirmation of seizure/forfeiture of the properties earned out of illegal drugs business was sent to the office of Competent Authority and Administrator of NDPS Act, Kolkata, as per provision of Sec.68(F) NDPS Act, 1985, which has been confirmed after due legal procedure. Seized properties are nine number of vehicles and bank deposit.
All these properties were purchased from ill-gotten money of ganja business within last six years. Properties were purchased in their own name as well as in the name of his father Madhab Digal & others.
