Chief Secretary Reviews Jayadeva Vihar -Nandankanan Road project

BHUBANESWAR:Chief Secretary  Suresh Chandra Mahapatra along with other senior officers inspected the progress of parallel roads from Jayadeva Vihar to Nandankanan at ground level on Saturday.

Mahapaptra also inspected the progress of the right side road from Acharya Vihar to Big Bazar square, and, directed @bdabbsr to connect the road up to Damana Chhak via Press Chhak-MCL square-Railway Stadium-Kelu Charan Park within three months.

This 13-km road will be connected to Chandaka Square via Patharagadia and the Institute of Mathematics at an estimated cost of Rs 92 crore under seven stretches. Out of this, 1.5 km of road has been completed.

 Mahapaptra also inspected the progress of the right side road from Acharya  Vihar to Big Bazaar Square and directed the BDA to connect it up to Damana Chhak via Press Chhak-MCL Square-Railway Stadium-KeluCharan Park within three months. The 6.25-km road would cost Rs 239 crore, including the cost of land acquisition. Out of this, 1.05 km of road has been completed. With completion of these parallel roads, the traffic pressure on JayadevVihar to Nanadankanan will be reduced substantially as the new roads will provide alternative connectivity to many residential and institutional areas.

Mahapatra emphasized upon strengthening the forest wall on side of the roads for protecting both the wild life and the people. Development Commissioner  PK Jena, Principal Secretary @FdOdisha A K Meena, Commissioner @bmcbbsr SK Singh along with other senior officers were present.
