BHUBANESWAR:Today i.e on 08.10.2026, a short while ago, Chandrajit Parija Programmer, O/o-DEO/DPC (District Project Coordinator), Samagra Sikhya Abhiyan (SSA), Jagatsinghpur *has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking a bribe of Rs.30,000/- from an executant for clearing his pending bills towards installation of digital black boards assigned to him in schools of Jagatsinghpur district*.
The accused Sri Chandrajit Parija, as a member of the procurement and technical committeeb inspects the installation works, and on his certification, the bill is released in favour of the executant. Despite several requests by the executant ( Complainant), Sri Parija was not taking steps to inspect work done by the complainant.
Instead, accused Sri Parija demanded bribe Rs.30,000/- from the complt for clearing pending bills. This irked the complt, and he reported the matter to vigilance authorities alleging harassment by Sri Parija. Following this, a team of Odisha Vigilance nabbed Sri Parija, Programmer, while taking bribe money Rs.30,000/- from the complt today.*The entire tainted bribe money of Rs.30,000/- has been recovered from exclusive possession of Sri Parija and seized*.
