Book Release, Scholarship Awards Ceremony organised by IPCA

BHUBANESWAR:The Ila Panda Centre for Arts (IPCA) organised a Book Release and Scholarship Awards Ceremony at Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.This year IPCA has published a book, ‘Nandalal Bose O Santiniketan’ by eminent senior artist of Odisha Shri Durgaprasad Das. Shri Das, an alumnus of Visva-Bharati University and the former Principal of College of Art and Crafts, Khallikote, is known for his command over Indian style of painting with elements of Chinese paintings embedded in them. The book is about Shri Das’ close interaction with Shri Nandalal Bose while he was a student at Kala Bhavana, Shantiniketan.

 As part of our mandate to promote art students from Odisha, we support scholarships to pursue Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from reputed universities outside Odisha. The idea is to enable the art students to hone their core competencies, as well as, synergise their specialised skills with emerging trends in the contemporary art world. Five graduate students selected for the IPCA MFA Scholarship for the year 2020-2021 are:

 1) Mahes Meher – MFA (Sculpture), The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda . 2) Deepak Kumar Mandal – MFA (Printmaking), Sarojini Naidu School of Arts and Communication, University of Hyderabad . 3) Rasmiranjan Mohanty – MFA (Ceramic), Sir J J School of Art, Mumbai .4) Sujit Kumar Swain – MFA (Printmaking), College of Arts, New Delhi .5) Amit Ojha – MFA (Painting), Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh .

 The Ila Panda Centre for Arts (IPCA), a non-profit organisation striving to showcase, promote and conserve visual art forms of Odisha, and promote the work of Odia artists at national and international forums. IPCA also seeks to widen the scope of art patronage and bring in the community at large as stakeholders so that art is seamlessly integrated into our everyday existence.

 Among other activities, IPCA is constantly endeavouring to enrich its artists by supporting their participation in national and international art exhibitions, art residencies, seminars, publications, art excursions and visits to art fairs.
