BJP Leader Krushna Panda distributes food materials in Kendrapara’s Aul-Rajkanika

AUL/KENDRAPARA: BJP Leader Krushna Chandra Panda along with Part’s district president Kishore Panda visited flood affected areas of Aul-Rajkanika and distributed dry foods, drinking water, fast aids and other essential commodities. A large part of Aul and Rajkanika blocks have been submerged with flood waters from Rivers like Baitarani, Brahmani and Kharasrota.

BJP leader Krushna Panda visited several flood affected areas and met affected people and assured them all possible support from him as well as from BJP. “As many as 10 Panchayats of Aul’s lowing lying areas have been badly hit with agriculture and allied products got hugely damaged,” BJP leader Krushna Panda said.

Officials said as many as 3 blocks of Kendrapara namely Aul, Rajkanika and Pattamundai were badly hit due to flood. Near about 1.5 lakh people belonging to 54 Gram Panchayats were severely affected.

As many as 2 breaches occurred in the district till now. While one breach has occurred on the Birupa river near Benipur under Derabish block, another breach occurred on the Kharasrota river in Madhuban under Dimiripal GP of Aul block. Many villages under Aul Assembly segment, which is facing Rivers like, Brahmani, Baitarani and Kharosrota have been submerged due to flood water in view of heavy rain.

Principal Secretary Industries Hemant Sharma, who was assigned the charge of Kendrapara by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, held a meeting with the district administration in order to monitor the flood situation and the measures taken by the district administration for rescue and relief operations.The district administration has evacuated nearly 3,000 flood affected people in the district.
