BHUBANESWAR:The last BJD government completely stopped the student parliament elections in the state. The former BJD government had blocked the path of leadership development from within the student community and undermined their democratic rights. In this regard, the Bharatiya Janata Party had taken a resolution during the last election that when the Bharatiya Janata Party gets an opportunity to serve the people of Odisha, it will hold the student parliament elections. After the Bharatiya Janata Party government came to power in Odisha, the long-standing demand of the students has been fulfilled on the basis of the said resolution.
They have been given their rights. After a gap of 8 years, the student parliament elections in the state were successfully concluded yesterday. This is not just a college election, but it is a victory of true democracy and the victory of the student community of the state. This successful election has instilled new enthusiasm and hope among the student community of the state. The BJP’s heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all the elected student representatives. State General Secretary Shri Biranchi Narayan Tripathi said that on behalf of the State BJP, we express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the Honorable Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi and the State Government for reviving this great tradition of democratic values and leadership formation on campuses.
This election was not just a process but a great democratic festival for the students of Odisha. Today’s students will lead tomorrow.
They are the future of Odisha and India. The lesson of taking that leadership is obtained from the Student Parliament elections and after winning the Student Parliament elections, they also participate in the development of colleges and universities. They always try to solve various problems of students. That work was stopped for a long time. On behalf of the State BJP, Shri Tripathi once again expressed his heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister and the State Government for building leadership among the youth and reviving the values of democracy.
Students have joined this festival with great joy, enthusiasm and discipline in the campuses and have proved their vote. The way the nationalist student organization Akhil Bharat Vidyarthi Parishad or ABVP has achieved a huge victory across Odisha, it is clearly evident that today’s youth has stood firmly with nationalism, development and positive thinking. The growth of nationalist thinking among the student community of Odisha has been accepted by the people of Odisha and the Odisha student community.
This visionary step of the state government towards developing the youth of the state into capable and responsible future citizens is highly commendable. Shri Tripathi expressed his strong hope that these new leaders will work with dedication to solve the problems of the student community and develop education.State spokespersons Shri Dilip Mallick and Shri Rajendra Panda were present at the press conference.
