BHUBANESWAR: BJD MP Dr. Sasmit Patra has written to Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman urging that Petrol and Diesel be brought under the GST framework.
He said and the proposal be taken up in the next GST Council meeting, stating that an indicative 28% GST regime could reduce petrol prices in Odisha by nearly ₹25 per litre and diesel by around ₹14 per litre*, while also outlining the revenue implications for Odisha and the Centre.
