BHUBANESWAR:  Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is “biting on the medicine option” for fear of losing the elections in Odisha. If BJD has worked for 25 years, people will vote for him, then why are they threatening people in the meeting? BJJ has started to worry after knowing its “expiry date”. BJD leaders, ministers, MLAs are threatening the people to pass the elections.

They are threatening to cut off government benefits. BJD’s former minister Snahangini Chauri threatens people in a meeting, we will know who you will vote for. If you don’t vote for BJ, you will be deprived of the government benefits you are getting. He said this in the meeting, the audio of which has been handed over to the CEO. He should be immediately suspended from election duty as per Act 123. If the Election Commission does not take action on this, BJP will take the idea before the CEO’s office, said the State Vice President Mr. Golak Mohapatra.

The BJP delegation led by the state vice-president Shri Golak Mohapatra met the chief election officer of the state and filed a demand letter saying that the BJD is repeatedly violating the election code of conduct. Similarly LI S Biraraju of Gurandiya Government Veterinary Hospital, Gosani block of Gajapati district, Adppa Venkarao, Secretary of Patikuta Primary Cooperative Society of Gosani block, Pradeep Dadai, an employee of Guma Agriculture Information Center of Guma block, are key government officials who are directly participating in the election campaign for the ruling BJD. It is a blatant violation of the rules. Similarly Damodar Nayak, supply assistant of Guma Block is campaigning for BJD.  Mohapatra demanded strict action against them.

State Secretary Kasthuri Mishra, State Spokesperson Dilip Mallick, State Media Coordinator Sujith Kumar Das, State Election Cell Coordinator Jayant Jena, Sucharita Jenamani were prominently present in this delegation.
