BHUBANESWAR: The BJD has dropped two sitting MLAs, Sambit Routray in Paradip and Bhupinder Singh in Narla. It has come to light after BJD Supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday announced candidates for 9 Assembly seats and Balasore Lok Sabha seat.
In place of Sambit Routray, the party has nominated his wife Gitanjali while a new woman face, Manorama Mohanty, has been named for the Narla MLA seat.
The party has re-nominated five sitting MLAs, they are– Prabhu Jani Laxmipur, Rohit Pujari Rairakhole, Braja Pradhan in Talcher, Chakramani Kanhar in Baliguda and Ananta Naryan Jena in Bhubaneswar-Central.
Till date , the BJD has announced its candidates for 117 MLA seats against the total seats of 147 while the party had announced all its 21 Lok Sabha candidates.
