BJD clarifies why it expelled MLAs Soumya Patnaik- Sudhansu Sekhar Parida, know reasons

BHUBANESWAR:  The ruling BJD on Thursday clarified why the party expelled 2 MLAs including Khadapada MLA Soumya Patnaik and Remuna MLA Sudhansu Sekhar Parida from Party’s primary membership. BJD in a statement announced a details report of allegations against MLAs Patnaik and Parida.

The BJD statement said, on an FIR by an ex-employee of Sambad newspaper, a case under section 506/467/468/471/420/120-B of the IPC has been registered against Khandapada MLA Soumya Patnaik and others by Odisha EOW. Further many ex-employees have made similar allegations with EOW.

It is a serious case of organised bank fraud involving loan worth crores of rupees taken in the name of more than 300 employees Sambad by using fraudulent means and forged document.

Sudhansu Sekhar Parida,  now MLA Remuna in Balasore, when he was Managing Partner of M/S Nigamananda Associates , Balasore, in connivance with others misappropriated government subsidy meant for farmers , of more than Rs 3 Crore, during the period from 2017-18 to 2019-20. This matter is being inquired by the State Vigilance on the orders of the Lokayukta.
