BHUBANESWAR: Newly elected BJP supported Rajya Sabha MP and Mayfair Group of Hotels, Chairman, Dilip Ray has sharply reacted to the on-going debate on BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s controversial remarks against legendary statesman Biju Patnaik terming him as CIA agent.
In a social media post, Rajya Sabha MP elected Dilip Ray, a close aide of Biju Patnaik wrote ‘One may debate history, governments, or decisions taken in complex and difficult times — but no one has the right to question Biju Babu’s nationalist spirit, his integrity, or his unwavering commitment to India. “
Ray further wrote “ Biju Babu’s life was a testament to courage, sacrifice, vision, and uncompromising patriotism. He was not merely a towering leader of Odisha, but one of the rare nation-builders whose life and work left an indelible mark on India’s political and strategic history,”.
‘ From his role in the freedom movement, to his daring aviation missions in service of the nation, to his contribution in critical moments of India’s early post-Independence history, Biju Babu consistently stood where courage, conviction, and national duty demanded the most. He was among those exceptional Indians whose service extended beyond public office and became part of the larger story of the nation itself,” Ray argued.
Ray said “ To reduce his extraordinary contribution to India and Odisha into loose and sensational political remarks is both unfair and deeply disrespectful.He stood for Odisha with pride and for India with courage. His life was defined by conviction, action, and service — never by hesitation, and never by self-interest,”
“For the people of Odisha, Biju Babu represents pride, legacy, identity, and honour.His contribution deserves seriousness. His legacy deserves respect. And Biju Babu shall always be remembered as one of India’s staunchest nationalists and one of Odisha’s proudest sons,” he added.
