BHUBANESWAR:Today i.e on 21.05.2026, a short while ago, Sri Bibhuti Bhusan Sahoo, Male Health Worker( MHW), Haladia CHC( Community Health Centre), Khordha has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance *while demanding and taking bribe Rs. 1,000/- from a Complainant for facilitating issuance of death certificates of his deceased parents*.
The poor complt. had submitted the application to the Sub-Collector, Khordha, who had passed orders directing the Registrar, Birth & Death-cum-Medical Officer, Haladia CHC to issue the death certificates. However, the accused Sri Bibhuti Bhusan Sahoo, demanded bribe Rs. 1,000/- and refused to take up the matter unless the demanded bribe Rs 1,000/- was paid to him.
Finding no other means, the poor complainant approached the vigilance authorities narrating his harassment by the accused Sri Sahoo. Upon receiving the information, a team of Odisha Vigilance nabbed, today, Sri Sahoo, while taking bribe money Rs.1,000/- from the complainant. *The entire tainted bribe money Rs.1,000/- has been recovered from the possession of accused Sri Sahoo and seized*.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations linked to Sri Sahoo from DA angle.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. Case No. 08 dated 20.05.2026 u/s 7 of the P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered.Investigation is in progress against the accused Sri Sahoo, MHW. Detailed report follows.
