‘Bharat Innovates’ to take ‘Deep-Tech’ innovation to the global stage – Dharmendra Pradhan

BHUBANESWAR:Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan said that ‘Bharat Innovates’ will take our country’s ‘deep-tech’ innovations to the global stage, while participating in the inaugural ceremony of the ‘Bharat Innovates Deep-Tech Pre-Summit – 2026’ organized at IIT Bombay campus on Sunday.

The two-day pre-summit has emerged as an important platform ahead of the international ‘Bharat Innovates 2026’ conference to be held in Nice, France. On the sidelines of the event, Shri Pradhan held a roundtable discussion with industry leaders and investors. He emphasized on innovation in the deep-tech sector, industry-academic partnerships and sustainable investment for startups.

Hailing India’s research-driven entrepreneurship and innovation power, Shri Pradhan said that ‘Bharat Innovates’, led by the Ministry of Education, aims to take research and development (R&D)-driven innovation from every corner of the country to the global stage. Through this, India’s cutting-edge technology can be showcased and global partnerships and investment opportunities can be created. “Bharat Innovates 2026 is not just an event, it is a vision to prepare India’s talented youth for global leadership. Our educational institutions today are not just producing exams, but also producing talent that can transform society. These deep-tech entrepreneurs will play a key role in realizing the dream of a developed India by 2047.”

Shri Pradhan visited the Startup Expo and interacted with innovators from various sectors like energy, climate sustainability, semiconductors, space and defense, healthcare and biotechnology. He expressed satisfaction at the depth of India’s startup ecosystem for solving real-world problems. It is worth noting that 137 of the best deep-tech startups selected from over 3000 applications from the country have joined the pre-summit.
