BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will lead the BJD’s 40-member star campaigners for the by-election to Padampur Assembly constituency in Bargarh district, scheduled to be held on December 5 while BJP pressed as many as 4 Union Ministers led by Dharmendra Pradhan to campaign for Party’s Pradip Purohit.
The voting will be conducted from 7 am to 4 pm on December 5 and the counting of votes and declaration of results will be conducted on December 10. It may be noted here that the by-election was necessitated following the death of sitting BJD MLA Bijaya Ranjan Singh Bariha on October 3.
The ruling BJD on Saturday released the list of its 40-star campaigners which include senior leaders Prasanna Acharya, Debiprasad Mishra, Praatap Jena, among others. Ministers Ranendra Pratap Swain, Pratap Keshari Deb, and Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak will also campaign for BJD candidate Barsha Singh Bariha. Senior leaders Sanjay Das Burma and Kendrapara MP Anubhav Mohanty were not in list.
The BJP has also named 40-star campaigners including Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Ashwini Vaishnaw , Arjun Munda and Bisweswar Tudu, party’s national spokesperson Sambit Patra, party’s national vice-president Baijayant Panda, Odisha incharge Sunil Bansal, former in charge, D Purendaswari among others for the by-poll.
BJP Odisha unit president Samir Mohanty, Bhubaneswar MP and national spokesperson Aparajita Sarangi, senior leaders Prithiviraj Harichandan, Jual Oram, Pratap Chandra Sarangi have also been named in the list.
