BHUBANESWAR:Based on tip-off reg collection of bribes from contractors, Odisha Vigilance intercepted Prasanjit Das, Superintending Engineer, Mahanadi Division, Jagatpur Kataka, and suspected ill-gotten cash Rs 21,88,620/- Lakhs was recovered and seized.
Case under PC Act registered. Investigation continues.Following his interception, simultaneous searches were conducted early morning today at his rented house and paternal house.
During search of his rented flat, further cash of Rs 14,60,000 was recovered. As the accused could not satisfactorily account for such huge cash amounting to Rs 21,88,620, the same has been seized. He has been detained for further investigation and is being interrogated further to ascertain the source of the cash.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case has been registered and under investigation.
