Baijayant Panda visits Flood hit Aul-Rajkanika in Kendrapara

BHUBANESWAR/KENDRAPARA: BJP National VP-Spokesperson and 4th times former MP, Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda was on Tuesday visited several flood hit Panchayats under Aul-Rajkanika block of Kendrapara and met the flood victims.

Former MP Panda flanked by former Aul MLA Dolagobinda Nayak, Kendrapara BJP president Kishore Panda and senior leader Krushna Chandra Panda visited flood affected areas and heard the plights of marooned villagers and assured all possible support.

The senior BJP Leader Panda also urged local party leaders to continue relief and rescue support to the flood victims.  He also assured that all possible steps BJP will take in distributing dry foods, drinking water, fast aids and other essential commodities. A large part of Aul and Rajkanika blocks have been submerged with flood waters from Rivers like Baitarani, Brahmani and Kharasrota.

Officials said as many as 3 blocks of Kendrapara namely Aul, Rajkanika and Pattamundai were badly hit due to flood. Near about 1.5 lakh people belonging to 54 Gram Panchayats were severely affected.

As many as 2 breaches had occurred in the district till now. While one breach had occurred on the Birupa river near Benipur under Derabish block, another breach occurred on the Kharasrota river in Madhuban under Dimiripal GP of Aul block.  Many villages under Aul Assembly segment, which is facing Rivers like, Brahmani, Baitarani and Kharosrota have been submerged due to flood water in view of heavy rain.
