JODA/BARBIL/BHUBANESWAR: The Tamil Nadu’s Salem born Mining Contractor , B Prabhakaran and his Thriveni Earth Movers Pvt Ltd, continued to play their cards in Odisha’s Mining zone of Joda-Barbil-Koira in Keonjhar and Sundargarh districts, with Joda Truck Owners Association waging a war against the Tamil mines contractor and serving an ultimatum to lease holder Indrani Patnaik mines of Unchbali block and Odisha Steel and Mines Department requesting them to look into the Dadagiri of B Prabhakaran’s run company and deliver justice to them or face consequences.
Sources said, B Prabhakaran’s TEMPL is engaged in mining exploration at Indrani Patnaik’s Unchbali block and deploying truck from Tamil Nadu, Punjab and other southern States for transportation while neglecting the local trucks those are affiliated to Joda Truck Owners Association. JTOA said thousands of trucks have left with no option after TEMPL deployed outside truck with much less fare. They alleged that local Joint Director Mines and DDM Joda and Koira are jointly patronising B Prabhakaran’s Dadagiri, sources said.
Earlier SS Logistic was awarded for transportation of minerals but after reports of illegal activities, local Mines official had cancelled its licence and later it was awarded to another logistic company but all of sudden, TEMPL intervened into the matter and taken over all transportation activities leaving local truck owners red faced.
A truck owner of Jampani under Badakalimati area of Keonjhar , alleged that B Prabhakaran forced them for begging as their trucks are not plying since long. “TEMPL is only responsible for the unrest in Indrani Patnaik Mines, we have lost everything for B Prabhakaran’s Dadagri,” he added.
Earlier, Villagers had staged a dhrana in front of the gate of the Indrani Patnaik Iron Mines demanding blacklisting of the ‘Baba Dhabaleswar Transporting Committee’, a transport agency that had allegedly cheated its members.
