Aparajita submits Annual Report Card to Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi

NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: The BJP Lok Sabha MP from Bhubaneswar and former IAS officer, Aparajita Sarangi was on Friday submitted her Annual report card to Union Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines Minister Prahlad Joshi and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Arjun Ram Meghwal in New Delhi.  

“Met Sri @JoshiPralhad and Sri @arjunrammeghwal , Hon’ble Ministers, Parliamentary Affairs, in Delhi today.Shared my Annual Report Card for the first year as a Parliamentarian with them.Sought their blessings & guidance .Lots to learn,” the BJP MP from Bhubaneswar, Sarangi tweeted.

The MP Sarangi in its annunal reports claimed that her first year as people’s representative to the Parliament remained fulfilling with various works done by her efforts for the people of the constituency during the period.

“As many as 1,000 solar lights were installed on the streets Bhubaneswar from MPLAD fund in convergence with the Atal Jyoti Yojana as part of a green initiative pushed by her to promote smart and renewable energy alternatives. The Rs 32-crore Hanspal flyover was approved. A flight from Bhubaneswar to Surat was introduced on January 20, 2020,” said she.

As part of her green cover mission, 87, 000 saplings have been planted in different areas of her constituency under the ‘Five lakh saplings for five lakh votes bagged’ initiative launched by her in the aftermath of the Cyclon Fani that ravaged the coastal Odisha in May 2019.

The Hanspal flyover on NH-16 saw the light of the day after she pursued the matter with Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari. Around Rs 32 crore would be spent for construction of the flyover, she added in her report.

Sarangi said people received old age pension of Rs 19,54,85,803, widow pension of Rs 7,92,24,000 and disability pension of Rs 3,61,88,100 in the constituency during the period.

“Under Bhasasa scheme, Rs 19 lakh sanctioned for 5,500 people, five PMNRF proposals worth Rs 10,50,000 approved, 700 kits donated to specially abled people, 25 tailoring machines distributed and 1 lakh people were fed under the AJITA scheme in the fight against Covid-19 paendemic,” she had claimed.

Sarangi said 42,000 people from Bhubaneswar have donated to the PM CARES for Covid and around 61,000 people from Bhubaneswar have downloaded the Aarogya Setu app.

She thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Ministry of Civil Aviation for considering the long pending demands of Odias staying in Surat and allowing direct flight service to the city from Bhubaneswar.

The MP said she achieved 100 per cent attendance in the Budget Session of the Parliament during which she raised many key issues pertaining to the constituency, including renovation of Daya West Canal and rain water harvesting and siltation problem in Gangua nullah.
