BHUBANESWAR:While environmental pollution and its protection have emerged as a major challenge, planting trees to balance it should be everyone’s responsibility, said Professor Pradeep Kumar Nanda, Vice Chancellor, School of Education and Research (SOA).
On Friday, a massive tree plantation program was organized at SOA Campus-4 and Vice Chancellor Professor Nanda said that all campuses of the university will be made green campuses.
This grand tree plantation program has been organized in collaboration with the SOA-run agriculture college Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAS), the zoology college Institute of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (IVSHA), and the law college SOA National Institute of Law (SNIL).
On this occasion, Dean of IAS, Professor Santosh Kumar Raut said that while this great work was organized to protect the environment, 500 trees of 12 varieties like Baul, Sunari, Kanchan, Arjun, Pistachio, Jammu, Bahada, Krishnachuda and Bada Chakunda were planted.
Senior officials, faculty, students, and staff of SOAR participated in the event and planted trees.
