BHUBANESWAR: Ajay Kumar Gadnayak, Independent Land Acquisition Officer, Sambalpur–Talcher Doubling Railway Project, has been caught by Odisha Vigilance while taking a bribe of Rs 5.10 lakh to approve a compensation amount of Rs 84.62 lakh for land acquisition from a landowner on Monday.
He had previously taken a bribe of 2 lakh rupees and was caught today by Odisha Vigilance while taking the remaining 3.10 lakh rupees. In this connection, a case has been registered at Sambalpur Vigilance Police Station, Case No. 20/2026, under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
