After a hiatus of 9 years, “Mela Gadri Babian Da” held at Gadar Memorial in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO/CHANDIGARH: About 100 Ghadarite followers, including seniors like S. Surinder Singh Mandali, S. Charan S. Judge,  and S.  Kashmir Singh, celebrated the 108th year of the setting up of the Gadar Party.

The official founding of the Ghadar Movement has been dated to a meeting on 15 July 1913 in Astoria, Oregon; and the first issue of The Ghadar was published in San Francisco on 1 November 1913.

The Celebrations included a recorded message of Baba Bhagat Singh Bilga, the last of the Ghadarite revolutionaries -he breathed his last in 2009; and video linkage/interaction with Office-bearers of Desh Bhagat Yaadgar Commitee, Jallandhar: Comrade Gurmeet & Surinder Kumari.

Senior Sikh and BJP leader S. Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal, S. Prabhdeep Singh Toor and S. Josh Singh Bual on the Western coast of US  participated; and spoke on the occasion.
