After 20 COVID-19 Hospital starts Operations, Naveen Patnak Plans 15 More

BHUBANESWAR: With as many as 20 COVID-19 Hospital so far made operational across the State of Odisha, Health and Family Welfare Department on Tuesday informed that 15 more to come up soon.

Odisha has so far made 20 COVID Hospitals operational. Central PSUs like SAIL-Rourkela under Union Steel Ministry, NTPC Ltd under Power Ministry, MCL under Coal Ministry, NALCO under Mines Ministry, Paradip Port under Shipping Ministry and State PSU, Odisha Mining Corporation under State Steel and Mines Department have jointly contributed, besides funds from State Government.

Several Private Hospitals like SUM, KIMS in Bhubaneswar, Hi-Tech in Rourkela and Ashwini in Cuttack have also joined hands with Government to streamline health services. Several private corporate houses are also doing relief and restoration works.

Meanwhile, number of COVID-19 cases in Odisha rose to 56 on Tuesday as a person tested positive for the virus in Jajpur. As many as 564 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. While the number of active cases stood at 37, a total of 18 patients were cured and tested negative for the virus, sources said.Death toll remains at 1 as an elderly person had died of COVID-19 in the state.
