BHUBANESWAR:On 12.06.2026, at about 9.30 PM, a dispute arose between two neighbours at Kailashai Basti under the jurisdiction of Airport Police Station. There was a dispute of ₹ 50 between them. During the altercation, one person, namely Saranga Pradhan, allegedly assaulted Gagan Behera with a sharp-edged weapon, causing injuries. One more person received injuries while trying to intervene between them.
Upon receiving information, a police team from Airport Police Station immediately rushed to the spot. The injured person was rescued and shifted to Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar for medical treatment.
The accused had absconded from the locality after the incident. However, acting swiftly, the police launched a search operation and successfully apprehended the accused within a short time. The weapon of offence, a sharp-edged iron sword-like weapon, has also been seized from his possession.
A case has been registered at Airport Police Station, and accused has been arrested. He shall be forwarded to the Hon’ble court today.
