BERHAMPUR: Jarada PS Case No.10 Dtd.07.01.2024 U/S-376(2)(n)/376(3)/506/34 IPC/R.W Sec.4, 6 & 17 of POCSO Act, 2012.
Arrested : Rameswar Mohanty(22), S/o: Trinath Mohanty of Bada Brahman Sahi, Patrapur, Jarada PS.
One Smart Phone seized from accused.
On 07.01.2024 based on the written report of Sri Subodh Chandra Sadangi, DCPO Ganjam , Jarada PS case number 10 dtd 07.01.2024 U/s U/S-376(2)(n)/376(3)/506/34 IPC/R.W Sec.4, 6 & 17 of POCSO Act, 2012 was registered and Sri Sujit Kumar Nayak, OPS SDPO Chikiti took up the investigation of this case..
During the course of investigation, it was learnt that the accused developed love relationship with one minor girl of Patrapur area. Later he kept relationship with her by giving false promise of marriage.
The victim girl became pregnant. Out of fear girl didnot report the matter. But when this matter came to the knowledge of the brother of the victim, he along with his sister cum victim girl spoke to the accused parents who threatened her not to report the matter.
After the case was registered accused Rameswar Mohanty absconded from the locality to avoid police arrest. However, based on reliable source, it was found that the accused fled away to Hyderabad.
So as per direction of SP, Berhampur a team of Jarada PS staff and Digapahandi PS staff under supervision of SDPO Chikiti is formed and proceeded to Hyderabad and apprehended the accused Rameswar Mohanty from Jeedimetla PS area of Hyderabad on 21.01.2024.
Proper legal action will be taken as per law against the persons who threatened the girl not to report the case.
