BHUBANESWAR:  The People for Aminal has said in a statement that TABC(Dogs) centre Sahid Nagar, Bhubaneswar has  been doing Animal Birth Control of  Dogs since last 12/13 years. But since last 12/13 years never followed the Animal Birth Control (ABC) of  Dogs protocol under Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960. There is no Monitoring committee to be constituted under these rules.

“All protocols under this rules violated. No expert vets engaged, No trained dog catchers, no proper catching vehicle, no supports staffs, no infrastructures to achieve  the target resulting thousands of dog death happened within this 12/13 years. Post operative care is very poor as no proper pain killer, antibiotics given and for these lacks of facilities the stitch of the operated dogs regularly not healing for which death of dogs happening regularly. Presently there are very young vets out sourced who have no expertise in surgery resulting more death of dogs happening,” PFA State secretary JB Das said.

These vets should immediately replaced by expert vets to stop mortality of dogs out of negligence and lack of expertise in surgery. Dr. Saroj Pradhan who have engaged one of the vets having no knowledge on surgery killing many dogs after he joined. He is not using anaesthesia during surgery for which dogs are dying out of severe pain. Not following ABC(Dogs) protocol no expertise in surgery and torturing and  letting the dogs to die brutally. In temperature 44 degrees open place without OT. No anaesthesia, no glove killing many dogs. We have requested govt. to suspend Dr. Saroj Pardhan immediately for his negligence during surgery resulting death of many dogs. We have also written to Veterinary Council of Odisha to cancel his registration who brutally killed many dogs not following ABC(Dogs) protocol intentionally, he said.

“So for successful implementation of (ABC)( Dogs programme more infrastructure, more man power, advance technique can make the programme successful resulting end of man-animal conflict which will create a healthy atmosphere for both man and animal to live.We urge before our Hon’ble Chief Minister to immediately stop this cruel practice ABC(Dogs) programme till proper infrastructure and expert vets and other support manpower are engaged and ABC(Dogs) protocol properly followed,” PFA Secretary Das added.
