BHUBANESWAR:A one-day Compression Only Life Support (CLS) training program was organized at SUM Hospital Campus-1 on Friday, in a joint effort of the Department of Anesthesia of the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, SOA and the Indian Society of Anesthesiologists (ISA) Bhubaneswar branch, on the occasion of World Anesthesia Day.

On this occasion, the Anesthesia Department provided training to more than 60 housekeeping, security, hospital staff, and attendants of the hospital.
The aim of this call training was that every citizen can save a life. The call training was provided on how a common person can courageously identify a cardiac emergency and save the person’s life through first aid and chest compression support.
The program provided training on the use of various skills and treatment methods.
Professor (Dr.) Sashwat Kumar Patnaik, Head of the Department of Anesthesia, participated in the program and said that through this call training program, he urged everyone to learn how a common man can be able to save the lives of people who have accidents that happen in their daily lives.
Professor (Dr.) Prerna Biswal, Professor (Dr.) Swastika Swaro, Professor (Dr.) Sushri Das and Professor (Dr.) Ranjita Acharya of the Department of Anesthesia conducted the program.
