BHUBANESWAR:This evening, on the instructions of Shibani Nayak, District Coordinator of Ruchika Samaj Mangala Sanghatana, workers Harapriya Pati, Ajay Maharana and Ghanashyam Bhoi reached the Sai temple in Chakeisiani area of Bhubaneswar and came to know that a minor girl from that area was getting married to a 24-year-old man from Nayagarh area and was running away to Nayagarh.
Therefore, after informing the Child Marriage Prevention Officer of the area and the local police, the minor girl and the groom are now returning to Chakeisiani due to the intervention of those officers.
But the government has enacted so many laws to prevent child marriage and has allowed all religious places to accept children, but under what circumstances the temple authorities allowed child marriage, an investigation is underway. For this, Ruchika will be given a police station report, according to sources from Chief Executive Officer Dr. Benudhar Sahabi.
