BHUBANESWAR:A comparative analysis of the first four months of 2025 and 2026 has revealed that there has been a significant increase in the number of vehicle fires in Odisha.
While a total of 183 fires occurred between January and April 2025, this number has increased to 349 during the same period in 2026. In particular, the maximum number of vehicle fires occurred in February 2026, with 98.
These fires include various types of vehicles such as EV cars, bikes, trucks, buses, autos, tractors, ambulances and JCBs. Dr. Sudhansu Sandhangi, Director General of Fire Services, has given information on how to properly maintain the above vehicles and how to prevent the number of fires that occur regularly.
