BHUBANESWAR:A 49-member delegation of the united opposition submitted a memorandum to the Governor of Odisha at Lok Bhawan. The memorandum was submitted demanding strict action against all the officials responsible for the horrific fire and deaths that took place at the Cuttack General Hospital. The delegation was attended by leaders of Biju Janata Dal, Congress, CPI(M), CPI, CPI(ML) Liberation, Forward Bloc, Samajwadi Party, NCP (Sharad Pawar), Samata Kranti Dal and RJD.

BJD Senior State Vice President Devi Prasad Mishra, Pradesh Congress President Bhakta Charan Das, CPI State Secretary Dr. Prashant Kumar Mishra, CPI(M) State Secretary Suresh Chandra Panigrahi, CPI(ML) Liberation State Secretary Yudhishthir Mohapatra, Forward Bloc State General Secretary Jyoti Ranjan Mohapatra, Samata Kranti Dal State General Secretary Prabhas Kumar Samantara, NCP State President Vikram Swain,
Senior leaders of various parties were present, including Samajwadi Party state leader Pradeep Kumar Mishra and RJD state general secretary Hemant Kumar.
The delegation of Biju Janata Dal included Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Pratap Jena, Ashok Chandra Panda, Tukuni Sahu, Prithi Ranjan Gharai, Sumitra Jena, Prashant Muduli, Bhrugu Baxipatra, Prafulla Singh, Subash Singh, Sulochana Das, Manamath Rautaraya, Bijay Nayak, Lenin Mohanty, Chinmay Sahu, Ipsita Sahu and Surendra Mohapatra. The Congress delegation included Prasad Harichandan, Srikant Jena, Jagannath Patnaik, Suresh Rautaraya, Tara Prasad Bahinipati, Santosh Singh Saluja, Lalatendu Mohapatra, Siddhartha Purva Dash, Meenakshi Bahinipati, Ravi Mallick, Suresh Mohapatra, Ranjit Pattara, CS Rajan Ekka and Prakash Jena. The CPI delegation included N. Narayan Reddy, Jayant Das, Vishnu Charan Mohanty, Badri Narayan Das from CPI(M), Mahendra Parida from CPI(ML) Liberation, Bidhan Das, Laxmi Dora from All India Forward Bloc participated in the meeting.
The main demands in the memorandum were – The death of 13 patients in this fire incident is a systematic murder. For this, the joint opposition party has demanded the immediate dismissal of the Health Minister from the cabinet. The hospital superintendent and all responsible officials should be arrested, a judicial inquiry should be conducted under the leadership of a High Court judge and a report should be published immediately, a financial assistance of Rs 1 crore to the family of each deceased and a job should be given to one member of the family. The injured should be provided with better and free treatment.
