BHUBANESWAR: Rungta Mines Ltd will expand its existing steel plant. The project involves an investment of Rs 9,000 crore and has potential to generate 12,000 employment opportunities in Sundargada.
This project of RML was approved by 46th High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA), led by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi.
Deputy CM KV Singh Deo , Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, Industry Minister Sampad Swain, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Development Commissioner DK Singh , Additional Chief Secretary Industry, Home and IPR Department, Hemant Sharma were among those present.
The 46th High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA), led by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, approved 27 major projects across 15 districts, with investments of Rs 2,47,115.70 crore and employment potential of 50,162 jobs.
The projects span data centres and AI, power and energy, steel, semiconductors, green energy, healthcare, textiles and advanced manufacturing.
The Steel & Steel Downstream sector will see two major projects in Sundaragada, involving a combined investment of Rs 14,000 crore and potential employment generation of 17,000.
