38 Platoons of Police Force deployed for Lord Jagannath’s Deba Snana Purnima, says Central Range DIG Asish Singh

PURI/BHUBANESWAR: Central Range DIG, Asish Singh on Thursday said that a total of 38 platoons of police will be deployed in Puri for Deba Snana Purnima on Friday.

DIG Singh informed that 2 commandants, 6 ASPs, 16 DSPs, 44 inspectors will be on duty. Apart from CCTVs, 20 cameras will be used for videography of the ritual, added Central Range DIG Singh.

The State government has made extensive arrangements for observance of the Deba Snana Purnima in the pilgrim town tomorrow. As per the ritual timetable, the Pahandi rituals of the deities will begin from 1 am tonight.

The bathing of Lord Jagannath and his siblings along with Lord Sudarsan will be completed between 7.30 am and 9.30 am. The Hati Besha of the deities will be held at 11 am tomorrow. After competition of all other rituals, the return Pahandi of the deities will be completed by 8 pm tomorrow.

The Anasara neeti which marks the absence of the Holy Trinity from the Ratna Bedi for recuperation from high fever following the grand bath will begin at 4 am early in the morning of June 6.
