3411.032 MT LMO Escorted by Odisha Police to Different Locations across India

BHUBANESWAR/ANGUL/JAJPUR: A total of 183 tankers/containers carrying 3411.032 MT medical oxygen have been escorted so far from Rourkela, Jajpur, Dhenkanal and Angul districts of Odisha by Odisha Police. More are leaving on Saturday.As many as 22 tankers were dispatched from Angul with 363.62 MT, 33 from Dhenkanal with 517.32 MT, 56 from Jajpur with 1152.51 MT and  72 from Rourkela with 1377.582 MT.

Further, 57 tankers with 1215.43 MT of oxygen were sent to Andhra Pradesh, 46 tankers with 766.059 MT of oxygen were sent to Telengana. Tamilnadu received 05 tanker filled with 98.54 MT of medical oxygen. Similarly, Haryana received 18 tankers filled with 374.752 MT of oxygen. 10 tankers with 164.56 MT of oxygen were sent to Maharashtra, while 136.241 MT of oxygen filled in 9 tankers have left for Chhattisgarh. As many as 15 tankers have carried around 277.93 MT of oxygen to Uttar Pradesh and 23 nos of tankers with 377.52 MT of oxygen were sent to Madhya Pradesh in last 09 days.

Based on the directive of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, a Special Cell was formed under Y K Jethwa, ADG (L&O) as the Nodal Officer for coordinated action for loading and transportation of medical oxygen by Odisha to States facing deficit. A Dedicated Corridor has been set up with round the clock monitoring. District SsP/DCsP and Range DIG/IG/CP are supervising the movement personally within their jurisdictions.

Odisha Police is committed to ensure that there is no delay in loading and transporting so as to promptly serve thousands of needy patients in UP, MP, Haryana, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telengana, Tamilnadu and other needy states. Odisha Police will do our utmost for prompt service to assist the needy states.
