BHUBANESWAR: A large number of people throng and participated in the on-going 3 days long Raja Mahotsav organised by Biswa Odia Pariwar at Odisha State Museum in Bhubaneswar.
The Festival drawing huge crowd, with Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy joined the Inauguration ceremony along senior BJP leader Samir Mohanty and Biswa Odia Pariwar and veteran BJP leader Sajjan Sharma.
Biswa Odia Pariwar is organizing a three-day Raja Mahotsav (Raja Utsav) at the Odisha State Museum in Bhubaneswarfrom June 14–16, 2026 aligning with the traditional Raja Parba festival.
The event celebrates Odisha’s rich cultural heritage, the traditional Raja Parba (a festival honoring womanhood, Mother Earth, and agrarian traditions), and promotes unity among the global Odia community. It features cultural programs, competitions, discussions, and festivities like Raja swings (Doli)
Key Highlights and Schedule
Day 1 (June 14): Raja Sajabaja Competition, Painting Competition, Kavi Sammilani (Poets’ Meet), and a panel discussion on “From Adolescence to Motherhood.”
Day 2 (June 15): Kanya Pujan, discussion on “Protection of Mother and Mother Earth,” Jhoti Chita and Mehendi competitions.
Day 3 (June 16): Various competitions and a thematic discussion on “Self-Reliant Women, Healthy Planet.”
The festival includes traditional elements such as swings, pitha (traditional sweets), cultural performances, and community participation. It aims to preserve and promote Odia traditions.
Apart from Odisha Legislative Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida State Women’s Commission Chairperson Shobhana Mahanty, Others like Child Rights Commission Chairperson Babita Patra, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, MP Anita Subhadarshini, and Odisha State Museum Superintendent Bharati Pal are among those expected to join in different days.The public is invited to participate enthusiastically. This is part of broader Raja celebrations across Odisha in 2026, with the State Museum event focusing on cultural depth and community engagement.
