DGP Abhay Lauds Police Commissioner Dr Sudhansu Sarangi and Team for Cracking IIFL Jewellery Robbery Case

BHUBANESWAR/CUTTACK: DGP Abhay on Wednesday has all praise for the team, which cracked the much talked about IIFL jewellery Robbery case of Cuttack.DGP has also praised Police Commissioner Dr Sudhansu Sarangi and DCP Cuttack Pratik Singh for rightly guiding the investigation and unearthing the major robbery case.

DGP today interacted with team of officers and men involved in investigation and detection of IIFL jewellery Robbery case of Cuttack. DGP appreciated their hard work, dedication and appropriate use of scientific methods of investigation.

Besides Cuttack DCP Singh, CP Dr Sarangi,   ADG(L& O) YK Jethwa, ADG(HQ), Lalit Das, IG(Modernisation), Sanjay Kumar Singh, IG (Provisioning) Yatindra Koyal and Director, Printing Press Mahendra Pratap, were also present on the occasion and encouraged the officers and men.

 It may be noted here that  police of twin cities Bhubaneswar and Cuttack had cracked the sensational IIFL gold robbery case. IIFL, a gold loan leasing company, has claimed that 39.5 kg of gold was looted from its Cuttack branch.4 persons had barged into the Nayasadak branch of the company and looted gold at gunpoint on November 19.

The company had lodged a police complaint stating that 39.5 kg gold was looted. Police had recovered 2 kg of gold and took into custody 4 persons. The involvement of 6 persons in the crime was found. Four persons who were roped in for robbing the branch were identified as Rajakishore Sahu, Biju alias Prakash Sahu and Padia alias Pradipta Behera, all hailing from Biswanathpur area, and Bapi alias Santosh Bhoi. Two bikes used by them were seized.
