BHUBANESWAR: Scientists from various higher education institutions from within the country and abroad, industry experts and government officials attended a workshop on ‘Quantum Science for Quantum Technology’ held at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) on Friday.
The event, which focused on advancing Odisha as a Quantum Hub aligning with the objective of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Bikshit Bharat 2047’, was organised in association with Atal Incubation Centre-SOA Foundation, SOA-CII and the Department of Telecom.
Dr. Basudeb Mishra, Scientist, DRDO, Mr. Subrat Kumar Prusty, Deputy Director General, Department of Telecommunications, Prof. Prasanta Panigrahi, Director, Quantum Science and QuantumTechnology, Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER) of SOA, Mr. Tapan Mishra, NISER, Bhubaneswar, Mr. Bikash Kumar Jena of Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology, Bhubaneswar, Mr. Sushant Kumar Tripathy of Berhampur , Mr. Dilip Mishra of Physics Department of ITER and Prof. Chandan Samantaray, Professor, Virginia State University and Visiting Professor at SOA were among the participants.
Prof. Manas Kumar Mallick, Director of AIC-SOA Foundation, inaugurated the event while Prof. Renu Sharma, Additional Dean, Student Affairs (ITER) outlined the program’s objectives and underscored the pivotal role of AIC-SOA Foundation in nurturing start-ups and innovations in quantum technology, there by fostering self-reliant and prosperous india by 2047. Mr. Rajeev Kumar, Deputy General Manager, SOA-CII, spoke about the incubator facility at SOA for fostering start-ups in quantum technology while Dr. Satish Samal, Associate Professor, highlighted the collective efforts in nurturing innovative ventures in the cutting-edge field.
Dr. Bharat Jyoti Ranjan Sahu, Chief Coordinator of Cybersecurity at SOA, spoke on the importance of enhanced quantum communication in network evolution. Dr. Shreya Banerjee and Dr. Rajiuddin Shaikh, Quantum Researchers at SOA, discussed the importance of enhanced quantum communication in network evolution.
The day-long brainstorming session focused on Quantum Communication, Quantum Sensor and Quantum Algorithms.
Researchers from SOA, Bhubaneswar ,IIT, Bhubaneswar, IIT, Madras, IMMT, Bhubaneswar, NISER, Bhubaneswar, IISER, Pune, Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar, C.V. Raman Global University, Bhubaneswar, Utkal University, Berhampur University and , KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, attended the program.
