Woman Teacher arrested in Bank cheating case in Kendrapara

RAJKANIKA/KENDRAPARA: Rashmita Pradhan (Gochhait), a PET teacher of Rajkanika block arrested by the Kendrapada Town police on Saturday in a bank cheating case.

According to SP Niti Sekhar and Rashmita and her husband Prasant Pradhan of Ekalapur in the Malianch area under the Tantiapala Marine police station had purchased a piece of land from Harish Pattanaik of Golakhnagar.

Pattnaik allegedly sold the land after obtaining a loan of Rs 4.43 lakh by mortgaging it in the Syndicate Bank, Santasahi Branch.

Though the couple was aware about the loan, still they purchased the land.Later, the Syndicate Bank authorities lodged an FIR at the Kendrapara Town police station.

Basing on the FIR, the police arrested the woman teacher and produced her before the SDJM Court here. She was remanded into jail custody after her bail plea was rejected, informed APP Niranjan Bal.

Her husband Harish and loan guarantor Rabindra Kumar Kar would be arrested soon, said SDPO Rajib Lochan Panda.
