BERHAMPUR: Spurious foreign liquor manufacturing gang busted. 95 litres of fake IMFL seized, 3 persons arrested so far. B.N.Pur PS case No.561 dtd.30.11.2024 U/s.274/275/3(5) BNS r/w Sec.52(a)(i) The Odisha Excise Act-2016.
On 30.11.2024 at 12:30 PM based on credible information BNpur Police staff conducted raid in a house near Engineering School chak Berhampur and apprehended the above noted accused persons with 11 of cartons having duplicate (spurious) IMFL.
During investigation the accused persons disclosed that for monetary gain they prepared the duplicate IMFL and dumped the same in the said house for the purpose of selling soon. Police investigating the involvement of other accused persons.
Accused Persons arrested-
- Tapas Sahu(27), S/o-Satrughana Sahu of Nilakantha nagar, Mentu Chhaka, Berhampur, PS-Badabazar.
- Amit Kumar Eas(20), S/o-Damburu Das of Chikarada, PS-Golanthara, Berhampur.
- Bhagaban Behera(28), S/o-Late Bidyadhar Behera of Karanasahi, near Jagannath Temple, Berhampur, PS-Bada Bazar
Seizure-
- Three cartons of spurious IMFL, each carton containing 48 Royal Stag Whisky of 180 ml each total 25.92 liters of whisky
- Eight cartons each carton containing 48 Royal green Whisky – 180 ml each total 69.12 liters of whisky
All total 95.04 liters of Whisky.
