BERHAMPUR/BHUBANESWAR: Call it Berhampur Police led by young SP, Saravana Vivek M flying high. Gold-Silver Jewellery worth Rs 41.37 Lakh returned to Rightful Owners in 5 Burglary Cases in Berhampur due to pro-active role of SP.
A total 805.5 g gold and 1Kg 700 g of silver ornaments were returned to the complainants of 5 burglary cases (worth Rs.41,37,500/- approx ).
Berhampur SP, Saravana Vikek M, handed over the stolen ornaments to the complainants and rightful owners at a special function held in Berhampur.
Total Gold weighing 805.5 Gram and Silver 2 Kg, 50.6 Gram was recovered from the possession of the accused persons. They were arrested and forwarded to the Court, SP said.
During the last month series of burglary cases were reported at different police stations under Berhampur Police district at Nimakhandi, Badabazar and Golantahra. SP forned a team under SDPO Sadar and IICs of Nimakhandi, Golanthra and Badabazar to detect the case and finally accused were arrested.
During investigation, a team of Badabazar PS proceedded to Daspur under West Medinapur of West Bengal, where they arrested accused and recovered 540 Gram gold and 1 Kg 700 Gram silver.
The rightful owners have thanked the Berhampur Police led by SP Sravana Vivek M for their sincere effort.
