SOA Researchers development Sanitizer to fight COVID-19

BHUBANESWAR: As the grim battle against Coronavirus continued, researchers at the SOA Deemed to be University here have developed a sanitizer to keep the virus at bay.

The researchers at the Centre of Biotechnology under the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences  have developed the sanitizer using isopropanol, hydrogen peroxide, glycerol and skin emollient, Dr. Basudeba Kar, Assistant Professor at CBT said.

Three hundred spray bottles of the sanitizer with Lemon Grass fragrance, had already been prepared, he said.”These products, prepared as per WHO guideline, are mainly for distribution,” he added.

The researchers involved in the project included  Subhashree Singh, Bhaskar Chandra Sahu,  Manaswini Dash, Debasish Sahu and Bhabani Shankar Behera. They were guided by Dr. Kar and Dr. Suprava Sahu.

The research team have been congratulated by SOA’s Founder President Prof. Manojranjan Nayak, Dean of SPS, Prof. S.C.Si and Head of CBT Prof. Sanghamitra Nayak for their achievement.
