Situation in Kendrapara normal, Police sealed 3 km Periphery in Aul Block, twitted Collector

AUL/RAJKANIKA/KENDRAPARA: With panic was on Tuesday spread after reports of COVID-19 positive from a Dubai returnee in Aul block of Kendrapara, District Collector, Samartha Verma has appealed people to not panic in view of the report and assured that necessary steps are being taken to contain the spread of the outbreak of pandemic.

“The positive COVID patient from Aul has been shifted to Cuttack COVID-19  hospital on Monday night. His family members are being kept in home quarantine and being tested. The village and other villages in 3 km periphery have been sealed. House to house survey is being done to screen the households. All are requested to stay indoor in these areas. No need for panic,” twitted the young IAS officer Verma.

“Hence, public movement in the villages has been strictly restricted and the district administration will take sanitisation and disinfection drives in the sealed area during the period. Besides, house to house survey is being carried out for screening of the inhabitants”, said Collector Verma.

Sources in Aul said, the COVID-19 patient,  has been shifted to Ashwini Hospital in Cuttack for treatment. Swab samples of his family members have been collected and sent for testing. They have also been asked to stay in home quarantine.

Police have sealed near about 20 villages under 4 to 5 Panchayats of Aul Block and  keeping a close watch the issue. Aul and Rajkanika Police have also appealed the residents not venture out and stay in home.
