BHUBANESWAR:   Self Help Groups were created to empower women socially and economically. But BJD has been wooing mothers and sisters of SHG to strengthen its vote bank. Falling victim to this temptation, some members of  Mission Shakti such as GPF leaders, MBK, CRP, GRS are promoting BJD by forgetting their responsibilities. Which is violating the election code of conduct.

This calls into question the legitimacy of the highest festival of democracy such as elections. Without using the lakhs of rupees given by the Modi government to the Panchayat Maha Sangh for women training, the BJD government is giving its own false propaganda like -: “How gold is gold” to the training of women. Which is against the main goal of SHG. Mothers and sisters who really want to be empowered are being forced to vote for BJD by giving misleading information to some women of Biju Mahila Janata Dal in the guise of MBK, CRP officers. Which is unfortunate and a flagrant violation of the Election Code of Conduct. The BJP women’s delegation condemned it and met the state Chief Electoral Officer with evidence.

The audio of MBK Smt. Nirupma Naik of Kheira block of Baltimore district openly encouraging mothers to vote for BJD is doing the rounds on social media. The proof of which has been provided to the BJP CEO. In addition, Ms. Pinky Pradhan, senior leader and cultural chamber coordinator, demanded that strict action be taken against Chandbali block BLF and ex-BMJD president Mansi Padi and Kendrapada district BLF politician Sanjukta Satpathi and their immediate dismissal.

BJD should refrain from repeatedly violating the election code of conduct by putting the mothers and sisters of innocent SHGs in their party activities. On the contrary, BJP always wants free, fair and impartial elections. State Women’s Morcha Media Coordinator Truptimayee Madkam, Social Media Co-Convenor Mansi Manjari Rai Padhi, State Women’s Morcha and ITSEL Convener Rajalakshmi Das, Minti Barik, and Mandakini Patra were prominently present in this delegation.
