‘Remember, you aren’t safe when taking bribe through PhonePe’ warns Odisha Vigilance

BHUBANESWAR:  Going forward Odisha Vigilance is committed to take strong action against bribe takers and their facilitators. Remember, you aren’t safe when taking bribe through PhonePe. ‘We will follow the digital footprints and come after you, the Vigilance said on Tuesday.

Two cases of bribe taking through PhonePe and one where bribe taken through unnamed Cheque have been detected yesterday. In all 3 cases private persons helping govt servants by taking bribe money in their PhonePe/Bank accounts have also been arrested/ prosecuted, it added.

On Monday, Tarun Ranjan Nayak, working as OAG-III, O/O GRF, TPCODL, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar along with his associate Ms. Sailaja Muduli, has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting bribe Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten thousand) from a Complainant through Phonepe (Digital mode) of Ms.Muduli  for processing the grievance.
