BHUBANESWAR: Mancheswar PS Case No.262, dtd.20.06.2023, U/S-447/323/307/326 IPC turned to U/S-449/302 IPC.PO-Nagamani Fire Safety Security Office, Plot No.525, GGP Colony, PS- Mancheswar, Bhubaneswar UPD.
Gist of the Case:
Accused Ramesh Barik was working as security guard in Baba Nagamani fire safety services running at up stair of Plot No-$25, GGP Colony. P.S-Mancheswar, Dist- Khurda since long. Another girl Swapna Samal was also working there as receptionist. During the month of May-2023 there was dispute arose in between the security guard Ramesh Barik and receptionist Swapna Samal for payment of borrowed cash.
For this the owner Shiba Prasad Sahoo directed both Ramesh Barik and Swapna Samal to leave the office and accordingly they both left the office quitting their job in the Month of May 2023 on different dates. After that the victim girl Mira @ Baijayanti Sahoo (25). D/o- Bishnu Charan Sahoo of Vill-Sariabara Patana, P.S-Naugaon, Dist-Jagatsinghpur was posted there as new receptionist on dt.06.06.2023 and used to work there.
But on dt.20.06.2023 at about 10.00 AM the victim was present in the office and other staffs were about to come. By this time assuming Swapana Samal is working in the office, accused Ramesh Barik entered the office with a bag in his hand armed with a knife and the deceased Baijayanti Sahoo asked him about his purpose of visit to the office: The accused used slang words to the victim and searched for previous receptionist Swapna Samal so also the owner. Suddenly the accused took out a knife and stabbed on the belly of the victim girl Baijayanti Sahoo who shouted to save her life.
The accused ran away from the spot through the rear gate of the spot building. Abinash Chhotray, the owner of the house tried to catch him but he ran away by giving him a push. The house owner helped the victim, removed the knife from her belly and the owner was informed. Shiba Prasad Sahoo the office of the owner along with Abinash Chhotray, the son of the house owner shifted her to Hi-Tech Hospital, BBSR by their car and subsequently she was shifted to Swastik Hospital, Mahatab road, Chhatra bazar, Cuttack for better treatment. On dt.22.06.2023 the condition of the injured deteriorated and on the way to Aswin Hospital she died.
