RAIPUR/NEW DELHI: Among the Ninety candidates won for the new Chhattisgarh assembly in recently held poll, lone Odia candidate Purandar Mishra ranked sixth in vote sharing percentage. Shri Mishra polled 54,279 votes, which is estimated 73.83% of the total votes cast in his Raipur city north constituency.
Keeping his popularity graph intact Brijmohan Agarwal remained First in polling percentage securing 1,09,263 votes having 163.01%, Arun Sao becoming Second having 157.27%, O.P.Choudhury becoming Third polling 99.62% votes and Gajendra Yadav becoming Fourth polling 98.96% votes.
The front runner for Chief Ministership Dr Raman Singh being placed at the Fifth position in the voters popularity chart garnering 78.52% of votes. The landslide victory of Purandar Mishra has played a vital role in boosting up the morale of 35 lakhs Odia inhabitants in Chhattisgarh. They are all set to exercise key responsibilities in ensuing crucial Lok Sabha election.
It may be mentioned here that in view of the fast changing political scenarios both Purandar Mishra and his Mentor present Governor of Chhattisgarh Biswabhushan Harichandan are now placed in a commanding positions to influence the voters of Western Odisha and Odia voters in Chhattisgarh to tilt towards BJP in next round of General Elections.
