Programme on CPR held at SOA to spread awareness

BHUBANESWAR:   A programme aimed at spreading awareness  about prevention of cardiac death in young people was conducted online for the faculty, staff and students of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPS), faculty of pharmaceutical sciences of SOA, here on Wednesday.

The programme was conducted by the National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) in association with the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).

Dr. Abhijat Sheth, President, NBEMS, inaugurated the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) session and discussed how cardiac deaths could be prevented during activities like gyming, running, dancing and performing.

Dr. Sanjeev Mittal and Dr. Debasish Dhar from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi explained simple techniques of CPR pointing out that even a common man could save the life of a person in such an emergency.

The major objective of the programme was to spread awareness about CPR. It was organised by Dr. Pratap Kumar Sahu, Deputy Dean of the institute and Nodal Person for the programme, under the guidance of Prof. S.C. Si, Dean and Dr. Debajyoti Das, Additional Dean of SPS.
