BHUBANESWAR: Princess Adrija M Singh of Manda and the granddaughter of former PM VP Singh, has lodged domestic violence and dowry torture complaint against her husband Arkesh Narayan Singh Deo, who is from Odisha’s Balangir Royal family, and son of former Minister AU Singh Deo. She claimed her husband, a youth leader of ruling BJD, had once attempted to have her killed by hiring a contract killer. The Junior scion of former Balangir royal family, Arkesh has refuted the allegations and said the matter is currently sub-judice in Dehradun Court.
Adrija Manjari Singh had earlier an filed FIR against her father-in-law AU Singh Deo, her brother-in-law Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, her mother-in-law Bijayalaxmi Devi, Meghna Rana and husband Arkesh Narayan Singh Deo at Rajpur police station.
But with no action by Raipur Police, she filed the complaint with the Dehradun police in Uttarakhand and she also met the DGP seeking justice.
Sourced said, Manda Rajkumari Adrija Manjari Singh had tied her nuptial knot on November 23 in 2017. But their married life gradually turned complicated and resulted court fight over divorce.
Sources close to both the former Royal families, said, Rajmata Padmini Devi of Jaipur, former Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, former Minister of Corporate Affairs late Arun Jaitley, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe along with his wife. former Maharajas from Jodhpur, Jaipur, Kishangarh, Puri, Dhenkanal, along with members of many eminent regal families from Odisha and other parts of the country were attended their marriage ceremony.
“My husband sought divorce in August of 2022. On 30 September 2022, I filed a complaint at the Rajpur police station against them. I am the daughter-in-law of that family. I do have the rights to stay there,” said Adrija.
