BHUBANESWAR/CUTTACK: With Odisha Cricket Association President, Pankanj Luchan Mohanty and Secretary Sanjay Behera working overtimes, the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) sponsored Inter-District Senior Men’s T20 League is being underway successfully amid COVID19 restrictions and guidelines.Belying all apprehensions, matches are going on very smoothly. On Thursday’s matches, East Coast Railways, Cuttack-B, Bargarh, Sambalpur and Khorda won their respective matches.
With OCA President Mohanty, who also heads MG Minerals Ltd, and one the most successful Odia Industrialist, has been regularly monitoring the cricket tourney along with secretary Behera and ensuring that COVID-19 guidelines be strictly followed till end of the Tournament on December 22.
The matches are being played without spectators keeping in mind the Covid restrictions, sources added. Among these players four will be selected for the Sayed Mustaq Ali T20 League scheduled to be held in January next year. Out of the players, 84 will be selected for the Odisha Cricket League scheduled to start from 26 December. Meanwhile, hearing a petition challenging the Tournament filed by advocate Subrata Nanda, the court has sought reply from OCA.
