ANGUL/BHUBANESWAR: Jindal Steel and Power Limited Chairman and former 2 times Lok Sabha MP, Naveen Jindal has paid a visit to Odisha’s Angul and reviewed various ongoing woks at Company’s integrated steel facility.  “𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌 𝒊𝒔 𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝑰𝒔! Our Chairman Shri Naveen Jindal with the team at our integrated steelmaking complete in Angul, Odisha. @MPNaveenJindal,” JSPL tweeted @JSPLCorporate.

It may be noted here that JSPL’s November production jumped 15% year-on-year (y-o-y), which is a shade higher than October’s 13% growth. This shows JSPL is sustaining its double-digit run rate witnessed in October under the towering leadership of Chairman Naveen Jindal and MD VR Sharma.

Meanwhile, JSPL Chairman’s frequent visit to Angul plant shows company’s commitment towards expediting all its pending projects since the State Government had already cleared projects worth more than Rs 70,000 Crore for the Group in Odisha.

Naveen Jindal led JSPL, which had bagged Gare Palam block in Chhhttisgarh, is also eyeing on Chendipada blocks having 40 MTPA under Talcher Coal Fields in Angul. JSPL had bid highest for Gare -Palma-IV/1 coal block in Chattisgarh with a reserve capacity of 84.262 MT and 6.00 MTPA by 25% worth Rs 652.10 crore.

JSPL operates the world’s first coal gasification based DRI plant of 2.0 million tonne capacity at Angul in Odisha, where syngas is used to make direct-reduced iron (DRI) or sponge iron, an input required in the steel-making process. JSPL’s coal gasification plant capacity is 225,000 NM3 per hour of syngas, which is supporting the 2.0 million MT of syngas based DRI plant.JSPL currently has a requirement of around 5.5 million MT per year of metallurgical coal and 7 million MT of thermal coal requirements.

The doubling of 13.5 km track between Kerajang and Angul, a part of the doubling of Sambalpur-Talcher link , which is expected to be commissioned by fist week of January next year, will help JSPL in view of loading as this line is very important as it will have a surge from 3 to 6 MT from JSPL siding.
