BHUBANESWAR/CUTTACK: A statesman like vision of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for all-round development of Odisha, once again on Monday proved after the State Works Department led by able Secretary Dr Krishan Kumar , timely support from 5T Secretary VK Pandian, make it possible , an seemingly impossible task to construct longest ever bridge in the State, that was on River Mahanadi.
Chief Minister Patnaik was so impressed by the construction work of the bridge on river Mahanadi connecting Gopinathpur- Singhanath Pitha-Baideshwar in Cuttack district , that he even shared mind blowing photos of the bridge in his twitter handle @Naveen_Odisha. The bridge was opened to traffic on Monday with Chief Minister inaugurating it. Rs 111 Crore has been spent for the 3.4 km bridge.
This bridge reduces near about 45 km of distance between Bhubaneswar and Badamba-Narasinghpur in Cuttack. The merchants, tourists, and people can travel the distance on a daily basis.The design of the Bridge resembles the English letter ‘T’ and the plan has been implemented for the first time in Odisha.

This bridge is now connect ancient Singhanath Peetha through a ramp bridge. The amenities complex on either side with facilities for parking of vehicles, toilets, etc, have been developed as part of integrated development.It may be noted here that in September, 2018 Foundation-stone of Gopinathpur-Baideswar bridge via the Singhanath shrine over the Mahanadi was laid.
